To begin, we have identified three complications which can be solved with our technology platform.

Pneumothorax

LUNG BIOPSY

Pneumothorax: Air leakage causing lung collapse during percutaneous lung biopsy. Occurrence: Happens in 12-45% of 1.3M annual procedures worldwide. Impact: Asymptomatic cases require extended observation, symptomatic cases convert to inpatient overnight stay. Consequences: Significant patient morbidity, physician fatigue, and hospital resource utilization.

Hemorrhage

RENAL BIOPSY

Hemorrhage: Major blood vessels punctured during biopsy lead to severe bleeding Occurrence: Happens in 5-7% of renal biopsies. Impact: May require blood perfusion, surgical/radiological intervention, or may lead to death. Consequences: Significant patient morbidity and mortality.

Non-Target Embolization

TARE/TACE/PAE

Non-Target Embolization: Presence of collateral vessels or reflux can lead to unintended embolization. Occurrence: Dependent on embolization procedure (4-7%). Impact: Dependent on procedure (mucosal ulcerations in TACE, GU side effects in PAE) Consequences: Significant patient morbidity and mortality.
